Branding, web design, and art direction for Hacking Finance, which explores the big issues impacting financial services. Responding to HF’s aim to shake up this industry, we created an expressive visual identity using a custom blackletter logotype and monogram paired with a suite of vibrant pattern and color combinations that feel wholly unexpected within the fintech space. HF’s robust online editorial platform includes a shop and even a tongue-in-cheek “Banker Mode”, which toggles to a more conservatively designed mirror of the site. In addition to art directing the site’s photography and illustration, we have also branded HF’s “The Shade” podcast, designed a print magazine, and created assets for various events, including their annual flagship retreat in Méribel, France.
